I finally nailed the fire I'd chased for years

The lessons gave me a way in. Heat that used to feel impossible to control finally clicked into place in a single cook, and every session after got easier.

The most encouraging teacher I've had

Marcus is generous and exact at the same time. He tells you the truth about your cooks and leaves you wanting to fire up the pit more, not less.

Worth it for the community alone

Cooking on my own felt lonely until I found this room. Every week I show up, share a few plates, get real feedback, and leave inspired.

I have a menu. An actual menu.

I'd been "going to build a real menu someday" for years. Someday finally arrived, and I have a spread I'm proud to serve.

Meet Marcus Webb

Meet Marcus, our founder

I'm Marcus Webb, and I built this kitchen for cooks who were sure they'd never pull off the barbecue they tasted in their heads. I've spent fifteen years working the pits, taught thousands of backyard cooks, and helped hundreds turn scorched guesswork into meals they're proud to serve. Fire cooking is the most honest kind of cooking — and this is a place built to stand beside you while you learn it.

Learn from working pitmasters

Guest pitmasters

Every month, a working pitmaster joins to break down a different animal and cut — brisket and beef ribs one week, pork shoulder or whole hog the next, then chicken, lamb, or a fresh catch. You get the technique for each protein, and someone to show you exactly where to look.

Your results

When you join, you cook your way across proteins and cuts you've never touched — sharing your plates, getting honest feedback, and watching your fire skills develop session by session. These plates are proof of what's possible once you understand heat, whatever's on the grate.

Questions, answered

Who is the kitchen for? +

Anyone who wants to cook better over fire — backyard beginners, weekend grillers, aspiring competitors, and seasoned cooks leveling up. You don't need a fancy rig or a competition pit. You need something worth cooking and the willingness to keep tending the fire.

How does the kitchen work? +

You choose the way in that fits you — a self-paced course, small-group coaching, or the membership with weekly live pit sessions and community. Watch a lesson, run your cook, bring your plate to the room. Repeat until your barbecue tastes like the meals in your head.

Which program should I start with? +

Most people begin with the flagship fire-cooking course and add live sessions as they go. If you already cook and want closer feedback, the small-group coaching is the faster path. Not sure? Try a free lesson and see what feels right.

What's included in the membership? +

Weekly live pit sessions, monthly guest-pitmaster cooks, the full library of craft lessons, and an active community of cooks sharing plates and encouragement. It's the room you show up to every week to keep your skills moving.

What do the lessons look like? +

Short, focused videos — usually five to twelve minutes — each paired with a cook assignment or worksheet so you can put it to work immediately on your own pit. No filler, no lectures you'll never finish.

How much time will I need each week? +

As little as twenty minutes a day adds up to real growth. The kitchen is built for people with full lives — you'll build a small, steady habit rather than chasing all-day cooks you can't sustain.

How do the live sessions work? +

They run every week over video. Marcus teaches a short craft point, then opens the room for sharing cooks, feedback, and questions. Come with plates or come to listen. Every session is recorded so you never lose one to a busy week.

How does feedback work? +

You can share your cooks in the sessions and in the community, where feedback is warm, specific, and kind. Putting your work up takes courage — the room is built to be a safe place to be seen.

Do you offer one-on-one coaching? +

Our closest guidance comes through small-group coaching, where you and a handful of cooks work directly with Marcus on your fires. You'll find those options in the offerings above.

What if I'm not sure I'm ready? +

That's more common than you'd think, and the early lessons are built exactly for that hesitation. If it still isn't the right moment, your access waits patiently for you — nothing expires.

What if I don't finish my menu? +

There's no clock that shuts a door on you. The path gives you a pace to aim for, but your access and the community stay with you until your cooking is where you want it — however long that takes.

Can I give the kitchen as a gift? +

Absolutely — it's one of the most meaningful gifts you can give someone who loves to cook. Reach out and we'll set you up with a gift enrollment they can start whenever they're ready.

Your best cooks are waiting. Let's go fire them up.

Start with a free lesson today, or explore the programs and run your first cook this week — with Marcus and a room full of cooks beside you.
